Holy Cow!

Hilarious.

"Sometimes I wish that George Bush had played at Ricky Martins' inauguration instead of vice-versa."

and

Communists are horrible chefs: "All ingredients should be added in equal parts."

[The Bee With Wheels]

Funniest stuff I read all day. Well, except for a news report saying that O'Connor, Rehnquist, and Thomas formed a dissenting group thinking that pot should be legalized, but obviously that report can't be accurate.

Flame on!

I hear about people getting prison tattoos all the time. The hell of it is that if the guards were tattooing prisoners, it would be something else entirely. That's what we have here, and that's why the argument of "well, look what they're doing to it" doesn't hold up.

Actually, if you won a settlement against some guards who were tattooing inmates, you could probably horde the largest supply of gin in the entire state and only practice law "for fun".

Re: the Kabul blast, yes, the bastards who killed an anti-Taliban cleric and then masterminded another attack in order to kill his supporters did desecrate holy ground. Not the first time I've heard of such things and I certainly don't admire these people, but you do have to admit that in a case of all-out war, that would be an effective tactic.

Too bad we didn't finish our work in Afghanistan before getting involved in Iraq.
I'm looking forward to the Anakin post. Not as much as I'm looking forward to the Fantastic Four movie, but surprisingly close....

Piss On

I normally like to do things in sets of three, but I have a trial this morning, so I've only time to do a small smack down:
Hood also said his investigation found 15 cases of detainees mishandling their own Korans. "These included using a Koran as a pillow, ripping pages out of the Koran, attempting to flush a Koran down the toilet and urinating on the Koran," Hood's report said. It offered no possible explanation for the detainees' motives.

In the most recent of those 15 cases, a detainee on Feb. 18 allegedly ripped up his Koran and handed it to a guard, stating that he had given up on being a Muslim. Several guards witnessed this, Hood reported.

And from Afghanistan, where Korans are being destroyed in accordance with the ancient teachings of The Prophet:
KABUL, Afghanistan, June 1 -- A suicide bomber disguised as an Afghan soldier attacked a crowded mosque in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar on Wednesday morning, setting off a massive explosion that killed 19 people and injured more than 50, Afghan officials said.

The blast occurred during a memorial service for a prominent and outspoken pro-government cleric who had been assassinated three days earlier. The police chief of the capital, Kabul, Gen. Akram Khakrezwal, was among those killed in the blast, which left the mosque littered with body parts and pools of blood, according to witnesses quoted in news service reports.

Gotta go do some substantial justice - to the Justice Mobile!
I haven't forgotten the long promised Anakin post - it's just that that sort of stuff takes longer to write than this.

Piss Off

Hey, how did a guard's urine splash on a copy of the Koran?

How did a "two-word curse word" come to be inscribed in a copy?

Why did someone kick a copy?

Why did a contract "interrogator" step on a copy?

Before you say that you really don't give a shit about the Koran, imagine if the roles were reversed. Also tell me if you could possibly imagine "Red Dawn" redone where Americans were playing the part of those bastard Commies. I don't know what the Afghan or Iraqi version of the Boy Scouts would be, but I wonder how many paramilitarians we got with that line of thought.

That would explain the kids we recently let go of. Bear in mind that if they truly were terrorists, then we're doing a shitty job on our War Against Terror. If we released them because they aren't terrorists, then we're making excellent progress on our War Against Justice.

It seems like you blog on topics you harbor secret shame about. Is that true?

Fascinating Things

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Despite highly publicized charges of U.S. mistreatment of prisoners at Guantanamo, the head of the Amnesty International USA said on Sunday the group doesn't "know for sure" that the military is running a "gulag."

Executive Director William Schulz said Amnesty, often cited worldwide for documenting human rights abuses, also had no information about whether Secretary Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld approved severe torture methods such as beatings and starvation.

Schulz recently dubbed Rumsfeld an "apparent high-level architect of torture" in asserting he approved interrogation methods that violated international law.

"It would be fascinating to find out. I have no idea," Schulz told "Fox News Sunday."

Northwoods Lawyer and frequent critic of the Clinton family, Brian, also had no information about whether Bill Clinton keeps a stable of fat young Filipinas to use in pony training acts across the Midwest.

Brian recently dubbed Bill Clinton, "a king-hell pervert who is capable of acts that would make the Marquis de Sade blush and vomit simultaneously."

"It would be fascinating to find out. I have no idea," Brian told the ficus tree in his office.
This would be why the America Left has no credibility with anybody outside the American Left.
